Taps and Leaks
Sometimes all a leaking tap needs is a new washer or O-ring. Other times, it’s time for new taps.

Sometimes, all that is needed to stop a leaking tap is changing the washers and “O” rings and giving the taps a good clean out. Alternatively, you may decide to update your taps and replace them.
A dripping tap costs more than you think
Did you know that a slow leaking tap can waste up to 20,000 litres per year? That is literally flushing your hard-earned money down the drain!

Upgrade to ceramic disc taps
A common update that we undertake is to change traditional taps for ceramic disc, 1/4-turn taps. These are far easier to turn on and off than traditional taps.
Washers and O-rings: DIY with care
Glenn spent a long weekend replacing the washers and O-rings in all the taps in his own home. It’s quite a simple process and there are plenty of instructional videos online, but be careful. He recently attended a call-out where someone had tried to fix a leak and, in their haste, had broken the whole tap breech. Read more in Plumbing jobs for a long weekend. If you’re not a keen DIYer, give us a call.
