One of the hardest working fixtures in your house, it is not surprising that we get many calls to come out and “look at the loo”.
Leaking toilets, a toilet that doesn’t flush properly, a cistern not filling with water, or a crack through the bowl – these are just a few of the problems that can occur with a toilet. At Upkeep Plumbing we can repair your toilet, or even replace it with a completely new model if that is your preference.

Common toilet problems
- a leaking toilet
- a toilet that isn’t flushing properly
- a cistern not filling with water
- a crack through the bowl
Blocked toilets
If water is rising to the rim of the bowl, it’s time to call. Glenn is called back to the same primary school every couple of months to unblock a toilet. The most recent culprit was a school hat, and the time before that, a tennis ball.
He also still gets called to unblock pipes clogged with wipes. Regardless of what the packet says, his advice is not to flush anything other than toilet paper. See our blocked drains page for more.
Repair or replace?
We like to use reputable suppliers, not only for our toilets but for all plumbing works. This gives us confidence, and you peace of mind that our repairs and maintenance are of a high quality. If you’re considering a new toilet, Glenn is happy to price up a few different toilet suites for you.
Save water with a dual-flush toilet
Did you know that older style toilets can use up to 12 litres per flush? If you convert to a dual-flush toilet, you can use as little as 3 litres per flush.
